KulkeeVettenHalki shipping company was founded in the spring of 2006. However, we have been providing cruise services in Päijänte since 1994, first with the smaller Jenni-Maria ship and then with the Jenni-Maria II ship. Monday 8 June 2015 was a dark day for our company. Our ship Jenni-Maria II was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out during maintenance work. All that remained was the iron frame and good memories of the beautiful ship. The current ship Jenni-Maria III arrived in Sysmä on Monday 29 June 2015 and was put into traffic in mid-July.

Ms. Jenni-Maria III’s captain is Jorma Sainio. Jorma has been sailing with Sysmä since 1983, and over the course of the summers, all the ports of Päijänne have become familiar. Jorma has a pilot’s certificate entitling him to operate a passenger ship and, in addition, the Finnish Navigation Society’s archipelago, coastal and open sea pilot’s qualifications. Jorma has worked at Sysmä firebrigage for 40 years, 20 of which as cheaf, and he also has first response training. As our cruise guest, you are in safe hands!
